Hornets Believe: Paul, Bobby Jackson Participate in Thanksgiving Event

On Sunday afternoon, tables lined with turkeys, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, juice and pies were set out on the gym floor of the Boys & Girls Club on Western Avenue in Oklahoma City. One hundred families sat on the bleachers as Hornets backcourtmates Chris Paul and Bobby Jackson told the crowd how pleased they were to be there.

“This is something I’m happy to be a part of,” Paul said. “Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and to make it one of yours is something that means a lot to me.”

Jackson and his family were stationed at the forefront of the line handing out turkeys, while Paul picked the middle with the green beans. And what Thanksgiving effort would be complete without a Happy Holidays card, with a family pack of tickets, courtesy of Hornets Basketball.

“A day off in the NBA is rare for these players,” Hornets spokesperson Michael Thompson said. “For them to spend part of that day here at the Boys & Girls Club on behalf of Hornets Basketball is a real testament to the character of these guys.”
