Community Report: Thanksgiving in Review

The Charlotte Bobcats wanted to make sure no one in Charlotte went hungry on Thanksgiving this year! In partnership with Wells Fargo, and thanks to Food Lion and Coca-Cola for generously donating product, we were able to provide food to over 4,000 people during our annual Cats Care Cornucopia event! The full Bobcats team and coaching staff, as well as 75 volunteers from Wells Fargo, Food Lion and Coca Cola, handed out 1,000 turkeys, 2,000 cans of corn and peas, 1,000 cans of yams and cranberry sauce and more than 1,000 boxes of stuffing and mashed potatoes to people in need from all over the Charlotte area.
As the guests started lining up for their meals, Bobcats players Anthony Tolliver and Bismack Biyombo greeted them at the door. Jeffery Taylor handed them their bag while executives from Wells Fargo and Food Lion made sure they got their peas, corn and cranberry sauce. Bobcats President and COO Fred Whitfield passed out mashed potatoes with Associate Head Coach Patrick Ewing, while Gerald Henderson and Cody Zeller made sure everyone had a two liter bottle of Sprite and a turkey. What a great day at Time Warner Cable® Arena!
Thank you to Wells Fargo, Food Lion and Coca-Cola for making Cornucopia possible and Second Harvest Food Bank for all of its support. We hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
