Every offseason, the Bobcats organization invites a few of its Season Ticket Holders and select partners to come out and enjoy a round of golf with members of the executive staff at the annual Bobcat Invitational. This year’s invitational at the Club at Longview provided a beautiful backdrop for this occasion, and the golfers could not have seen a more beautiful day, with highs in the low 80s and sunshine all day long. It proved an ideal day to bring together some of our valued customers to celebrate some of the exciting changes recently to the Bobcats organization. The day served as an opportunity to thank everyone for their dedication to the organization and invite them to continue with the organization on what is sure to be a fun ride going forward.

The tournament was played Texas scramble style in teams of four with players competing to win prizes from various Bobcat sponsors. After allowing players to warm up and enjoy a quick lunch, Bobcat President & Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield greeted everyone and reiterated that events like these were small steps taken to bring together part of the Bobcats community and show the appreciation this organization has for all of its supporters. Whitfield also touched on two of the biggest issues on everyone’s mind – the Back the Buzz campaign and how he hopes it will serve to further galvanize the Charlotte community behind the team, and the exciting news that the Bobcats have found their man in Steve Clifford to step in as head coach.

After the welcome ceremony the day got back to the task at hand and the teams each set out to enjoy a little friendly competition on the course. Nike gift cards, a Husqvarna lawn package, and a two-night stay at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort were just a few of the prizes winning players took home. If the beautiful weather and ideal scenery the Cats had were any indication, there are only bright things ahead for the Bobcats.
