Sports Radio 610AM WFNZ The Fan will be on site at the WFNZ Doghouse (located at the corner of Mint St and Morehead St) broadcasting live all day on Wednesday November 27 to raise money and awareness for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina and Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry as part of the station’s annual Street Turkeys Event. The day of live broadcasting begins at 6:00 a.m. with The Mac Attack.

In its 11th year, Street Turkeys was created to generate awareness for the need to feed the hungry. Over the past 11 years, thousands of dollars and tons of food have been donated to help provide meals to families in need, while increasing awareness of the problems of hunger in the Charlotte area. Listeners are encouraged to stop by the WFNZ Doghouse until 7:00 p.m. to give canned goods, turkeys and monetary donations.

The Charlotte Bobcats will once again partner in the annual Street Turkeys Food Drive. Bobcats President & COO, Fred Whitfield along with team executives, The Lady Cats and team mascot, Rufus, will all be volunteering onsite to assist with the collection of food. Through their partnership with Cats Care, the philanthropic arm of the Bobcats, Food Lion will be donating 750 turkeys to this year’s campaign, and will be making the turkey delivery to the WFNZ Dog House at 1:00 p.m. Additionally, Food Lion volunteers will be in attendance to assist with the food drive.

"The holidays are about creating lasting memories and traditions that stand the test of time, and we are honored to again partner with WFNZ for their annual Street Turkeys Food Drive," said Bobcats President & COO Fred Whitfield. "We’re excited to be able to include one of our community partners, Food Lion, in this year’s drive and provide an additional 750 turkeys. As an organization, we pride ourselves on being great community partners and the overwhelming response Street Turkeys has created through the years makes giving back to the community all the more special."

Also, broadcasting live and encouraging listeners to stop by and donate will be Bustin’ Loose with Frank Garcia from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and The Drive with Marc James and Taylor Zarzour from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
