The Bobcats hosted D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) Day at Time Warner Cable Arena.
This year's event was the fifth annual D.E.A.R. Day.
Bobcats President Fred Whitfield and a representative from the library shared a story with the kids.
Bobcats Team Ambassador Dell Curry was one of just many featured readers at D.E.A.R. Day.
Bobcats Mascot Rufus Lynx was on hand to entertain the kids at D.E.A.R. Day.
The Lady Cats took time out to share one of their favorite stories with the kids.
Bobcats Team Ambassador Muggsy Bogues and the Director of the Public Library Charles Brown spent a few minutes reading to the kids.
Charlotte 49ers Basketball Coach Bobby Lutz took time out to read.
Bobcats TV Announcer Stephanie Ready joined forces City Councilman John Lassiter to share the importance of reading.
Bobcats Chief Marketing Officer Greg Economou joined the Library's Director of Community Outreach Karen Beach to share a story.
Bobcats Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel Jared Bartie was also a featured reader.
Bobcats Chief Financial Officer Mike Behrman shared a story during D.E.A.R. Day.
The Charlotte Checkers Mascot Chubby Checker also joined in the fun.
All the kids received a free book at the end of D.E.A.R. Day.
Everyone searched for exactly the right title as they picked out their free book.
