Overview
The Bobcats Stay Active program, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield, aims to engage 350 youth in physical fitness and nutrition based programming over a six week time period. Each week, elementary through high school aged kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Charlotte will participate in two Stay Active sessions. All eight Boys and Girls Club of Greater Charlotte will participate. The sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 6pm (with some exceptions). Session activities and topics are determined by the Bobcats, Boys and Girls Club, and BCBS. Stay Active sessions are led by B&G Club staff, with support from Bobcats and BCBS staff.

Bobcats players, coaches, trainers, Lady Cats, Rufus and staff will participate in Stay Active sessions. Stay Active and Bobcats merchandise will be used as incentives throughout the program. In order to successfully complete the program, participants must attend 75% of the sessions and complete their pre/post fitness tests. At the end of the program, all kids who complete the Stay Active program will be invited to a Bobcats game for a special experience.

Individual Exercise
At the Milton Road Boys and Girls Club the Lay Cats and Rufus showed the kids the importance of individual exercise and conditioning on March 8. Everyone participated in exercises that they can do everyday to stay active and conditioned.

Group Exercise
On March 15 the Lady Cats and Rufus showed the kids at the Marsh Road Boys and Girls Club how fun it can be to participate in group exercise. The Lady Cats demonstrated warm-up exercises, yoga poses, and taught the kids an official dance routine to get them all active and working together.

Coordination
Derrick Brown and Reggie Williams visited the Belmont Avenue Boys and Girls Club on March 20 to take part in the BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina Stay Active program. Brown and Williams helped out at four different stations intended to get the kids moving.

Outdoor Play
