Offseason Power Rankings

It was a long time coming, but Dwight Howard is finally out of Orlando and is on his way--like seemingly most great centers--to L.A. to become a Laker.

Things are fluid now that the NBA Free Agency period has begun as of July 1, so we thought we'd provide you with weekly power rankings for the offseason. As teams make moves, we move them up and down the ladder on a weekly basis.

The 2011-12 regular season and playoff records are shown in parentheses. Draft picks are recognized by the numbers sign (#). Players that re-sign with their own teams are listed in the Keepers category, while players that join and leave respective teams are noted in the Additions or Subtractions sections.

POWER RANKINGS (as of August 10, 2012)

1. MIAMI HEAT (46-20 season; 16-7 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The rich get richer, with Miami signing former All-Stars and Sonics teammates Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. The only player lost with 100-plus minutes on the team was Ronny Turiaf, who only played 342 minutes for the 2011-12 Heat ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF LeBron James, SG Dwyane Wade, C Chris Bosh, PG Mario Chalmers, SF Shane Battier, SG Ray Allen ... ADDITIONS: SG Ray Allen (3 years, $9 million), PF Rashard Lewis (2 years, $2.8 million), C Justin Hamilton (#45) ... SUBTRACTIONS: C Ronny Turiaf ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 1

2. LOS ANGELES LAKERS (41-25 season; 5-7 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Dwight Howard will do for the Lakers' defense what Steve Nash will do for L.A.'s offense. It cannot be understated how great this trade makes the Lakers once again. The only reason the Lakers rank second in these power rankings instead of first is because of the new chemistry factor. Like Miami's Big 3 when they first assembled, there will be some early bumps in the road. But like the 2011 Heat, expect these Lakers to have a really good shot at making the 2013 NBA Finals, despite playing in the same conference with the ever-growing Thunder and always-steady Spurs ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: C Dwight Howard, PF Pau Gasol, SG Kobe Bryant, PG Steve Nash, SF Metta World Peace, PF Antawn Jamison ... ADDITIONS: C Dwight Howard, PG Steve Nash (3 years, $27 million), PF Antawn Jamison, SG Darius Johnson-Odom (#55), C Robert Sacre (#60) ... KEEPERS: PF Jordan Hill (2 years, $8 million), SF Devin Ebanks (1 year, $1.4 million), PG Darius Morris ... SUBTRACTIONS: C Andrew Bynum, PG Ramon Sessions ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 7

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER (47-19 season; 13-7 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Thunder's main concern is unloading $10 million worth of contracts by next season so they can sign James Harden and Serge Ibaka to annual $10-$13 million extensions. OKC signed Hasheem Thabeet and two rookies so that they could shave $4 million in 2012-13 salaries by letting Nazr Mohammed, Royal Ivey, and probably Derek Fisher go as free agents. Next, you may see Kendrick Perkins, Daequan Cook and/or Cole Aldrich on the block ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SF Kevin Durant, PG Russell Westbrook, SG James Harden, PF Serge Ibaka, C Kendrick Perkins, SG Thabo Sefolosha ... ADDITIONS: C Hasheem Thabeet (3 years, $3.7 million), PF Perry Jones (#28), PF Hollis Thompson (3 years, $2.2 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: C Nazr Mohammed, PG Royal Ivey ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 2

4. SAN ANTONIO SPURS (50-16 season; 10-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Spurs now have 15 players under contract and have set themselves up nicely to get as much as $22 million under the salary cap in Summer 2013, with Ginobili the only unsigned starter on next year's roster ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PG Tony Parker, C Tim Duncan, SG Manu Ginobili, SF Kawhi Leonard, PF Boris Diaw, SF Stephen Jackson ... ADDITIONS: SG Nando De Colo (3 years, $4.7 million), SG Marcus Denmon (#59) ... KEEPERS: C Tim Duncan (3 years, $30 million), PF Boris Diaw (2 years, $9.4 million), SG Danny Green (3 years, $11.3 million), PG Patty Mills (2 years, $2.2 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG James Anderson ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 3

5. BOSTON CELTICS (39-27 season; 11-9 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Jason Terry replaces Ray Allen, Courtney Lee comes in as another backup combo guard, Celtics add Jared Sullinger, Fab Melo, Jason Collins and Jeff Green and reloads for another run ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PG Rajon Rondo, SF Paul Pierce, C Kevin Garnett, PF Brandon Bass, SG Jason Terry, SG Avery Bradley ... ADDITIONS: SG Jason Terry (3 years, $15 million), SG Courtney Lee (3 years, $15 million), SF Jeff Green (4 years, $24 million), C Jason Collins, PF Jared Sullinger (#21), C Fab Melo (#22), SF Kris Joseph (#51), SG Dionte Christmas, PG Jamar Smith ... KEEPERS: C Kevin Garnett (3 years, $34 million), PF Brandon Bass (3 years, $20 million), PG Keyon Dooling, C Chris Wilcox ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Ray Allen, C Greg Stiesma, C Ryan Hollins, SG Sasha Pavlovic, SG E'Twaun Moore, PF JaJuan Johnson, PF Sean Williams ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 5

6. LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS (40-26 season; 4-7 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: While their main concern now is Blake Griffin's knee, the Clippers upgraded at three key spots, with Lamar Odom replacing Reggie Evans as first big off the bench, Jamal Crawford replacing Mo Williams as first guard off the bench and Grant Hill replacing Randy Foye at wing off bench ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF Blake Griffin, PG Chris Paul, PG Chauncey Billups, SF Caron Butler, C DeAndre Jordan, PF Lamar Odom ... ADDITIONS: PF Lamar Odom, SF Grant Hill (2 years, $4 million), SG Jamal Crawford (3 years, $15.7 million), PF Ronny Turiaf, C Ryan Hollins, SG Willie Green ... KEEPERS: Blake Griffin (5 years, $95 million), PG Chauncey Billups (1 year, $4.3 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Randy Foye, PF Reggie Evans, PG Mo Williams, SG Nick Young, SF Ryan Gomes ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 8

7. INDIANA PACERS (42-24 season; 6-5 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Pacers have been saving up for this rainy day and were able to give free agent starters Roy Hibbert and George Hill the paydays they deserve. Indiana now has 10 players signed--including all their starters--at only $53 million in salaries ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SF Danny Granger, SG Paul George, C Roy Hibbert, PF David West, PG George Hill, PF Tyler Hansbrough ... ADDITIONS: C Ian Mahinmi (4 years, $16 million), PG D.J. Augustin, SG Gerald Green, C Miles Plumlee (#26), SG Orlando Johnson (#36) ... KEEPERS: Roy Hibbert (4 years, $58 million), George Hill (5 years, $40 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: PG Darren Collison, PG A.J. Price, SG Dahntay Jones ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 6

8. CHICAGO BULLS (50-16 season; 2-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Does Kirk Hinrich + Marquis Teague + Nate Robinson + Marco Belinelli = C.J. Watson + John Lucas III + Kyle Korver + Ronnie Brewer? Does Nazr Mohammed + Vlad Radmanovic = Omer Asik? If the answer is No, then you have to think the Bulls are in for a tumble with the loss of Derrick Rose for most of the regular season ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SF Luol Deng, PF Carlos Boozer, C Joakim Noah, SG Richard Hamilton, PF Taj Gibson, PG Kirk Hinrich ... ADDITIONS: PG Kirk Hinrich (3 years, $9 million), PF Vladimir Radmanovic (1 year), C Nazr Mohammed, PG Nate Robinson, SG Marco Belinelli, PG Marquis Teague (#29) ... SUBTRACTIONS: C Omer Asik, SG Kyle Korver, SG Ronnie Brewer, PG C.J. Watson, PG John Lucas III ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 4

9. MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (41-25 season; 3-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: With the Wayne Ellington-for-Dante Cunningham deal complete, it appears Memphis is done with transactions for awhile ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SF Rudy Gay, C Marc Gasol, PG Mike Conley, PF Zach Randolph, SG Tony Allen, SG Quincy Pondexter ... ADDITIONS: SG Wayne Ellington, PG Jerryd Bayless (2 years), SG D.J. Kennedy, PG Tony Wroten Jr. (#25) ... KEEPERS: C Hamed Haddadi, PF Darrell Arthur (3 years, $9 million), PF Marreese Speights (2 years, $9 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG O.J. Mayo, PF Dante Cunningham, PG Jeremy Pargo ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 9

10. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (23-43 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Warriors--along with the Lakers and Timberwolves--had the best summer of acquisitions. Golden State not only acquired plenty of depth, it did so at good value ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF David Lee, PG Stephen Curry, C Andrew Bogut, SG Klay Thompson, SG Brandon Rush, SF Richard Jefferson ... ADDITIONS: SF Harrison Barnes (#7), PF Carl Landry, PG Jarrett Jack, C Festus Ezeli (#30), PF Draymond Green (#35), C Ognjen Kuzmic (#52), SG Kent Bazemore ... KEEPERS: Brandon Rush ... SUBTRACTIONS: SF Dorell Wright, PG Nate Robinson, SF Dominic McGuire, SF Chris Wright ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 24

11. DENVER NUGGETS (38-28 season; 3-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Andre Iguodala acquistion is so important because he is one of the NBA's best defensive wings, perhaps even better than Luol Deng, Shane Battier or Tony Allen. That is important because Denver ranked 19th in defensive efficiency in 2011-12. Who knows? If the JaVale McGee and Iguodala acquisitions make Denver a Top 5 defensive team, then the squad that ranked third in offensive efficiency is headed in the right direction ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SG Andre Iguodala, PG Ty Lawson, PG Andre Miller, SF Danilo Gallinari, PF Kenneth Faried, C JaVale McGee ... ADDITIONS: SG Andre Iguodala, PF Anthony Randolph, SG Evan Fournier (#20), SF Quincy Miller (#38), PF Izzet Turkyilmaz (#39) ... KEEPERS: C Javale McGee (4 years), PG Andre Miller (3 years) ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Arron Afflalo, PF Al Harrington, SG Rudy Fernandez, C Chris Andersen ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 12

12. MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES (26-40 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: CSKA Moscow and Russa Olympic teammates Andrei Kirilenko and Alexey Shved will make Minnesota an instant contender, playing with Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic and the newly-acquired Brandon Roy. Like the Lakers and Warriors, the T-Wolves had one of the league's best summers of acquisitions ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF Kevin Love, PG Ricky Rubio, SF Andrei Kirilenko, C Nikola Pekovic, SG Alexey Shved, SG Brandon Roy ... ADDITIONS: SF Andrei Kirilenko (2 years, $20 million), SG Brandon Roy (2 years, $10.4 million), SF Chase Budinger, SG Alexey Shved (3 years, $10 million), PF Dante Cunningham, C Greg Stiemsma, SF Lior Eliyahu, SF Robbie Hummel (#58) ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Wesley Johnson, SF Martell Webster, PF Michael Beasley, SG Wayne Ellington, PF Anthony Randolph, C Darko Milicic, C Brad Miller ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 21

13. DALLAS MAVERICKS (36-30 season; 0-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Owner Mark Cuban and GM Donn Nelson didn't land Dwight Howard, Deron Williams or Steve Nash, but they did preserve valuable cap space heading into the game-changing 2013-14 season when luxury-cap penalties go through the roof. By getting great value and decent starters on short-term deals--Elton Brand, Chris Kaman, O.J. Mayo and Darren Collison--the Mavs remain a playoff team with a very bright future ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF Dirk Nowitzki, SF Shawn Marion, SG Vince Carter, C Chris Kaman, PG Darren Collison, PF Elton Brand ... ADDITIONS: PF Elton Brand (1 year, $2.1 million off amnesty bid), C Chris Kaman (1 year, $8 million), SG O.J. Mayo (2 years), PG Darren Collison, SG Dahntay Jones, SG Jared Cunningham (#24), PF Bernard James (#33), SF Rae Crowder (#34) ... KEEPERS: PG Delonte West ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Jason Terry, PG Jason Kidd, C Brendan Haywood, C Ian Mahinmi, PF Lamar Odom, SG Kelenna Azubuike ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 15

14. ATLANTA HAWKS (40-26 season; 2-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: New GM Danny Ferry has streamlined the Hawks, getting rid of the cumbersome contracts of Joe Johnson (4 years, $89 million), Marvin Williams (2 years, $16 million) and turning them into bang-for-buck assets Devin Harris, Louis Williams, Anthony Morrow and Jordan Williams. Ferry also signed-and-traded Kirk Hinrich to land Kyle Korver. The Hawks now have only three players on the books for the 2013-14 season and can still probably play 60 percent ball in the 2012-13 season. Great moves by Ferry ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF Josh Smith, C Al Horford, PG Jeff Teague, PG Devin Harris, SG Louis Williams, SF Kyle Korver ... ADDITIONS: SG Louis Williams (3 years, $15.7 million), SF Kyle Korver, PG Devin Harris, SG Anthony Morrow, PF Jordan Williams, SG DeShawn Stevenson, C Johan Petro, SG John Jenkins (#23), PF Mike Scott (#43) ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Joe Johnson, SF Marvin Williams, PG Kirk Hinrich, PF Vladimir Radmanovic, SG Willie Green, C Jason Collins, SG Jerry Stackhouse ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 11

15. BROOKLYN NETS (22-44 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Everyone's excited about the new Brooklyn Nets, but really all they did was pay the old New Jersey Nets a lot of money, then traded a bunch of expiring contracts for Joe Johnson's horrible 4-year, $89 million contract. Same team pretty much, although Brook Lopez and Gerald Wallace haven't even played one minute together yet ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PG Deron Williams, SF Gerald Wallace, SG Joe Johnson, C Brook Lopez, PF Kris Humphries, PF Mirza Teletovic ... ADDITIONS: SG Joe Johnson, PF Mirza Teletovic (3 years, $9 million), PG C.J. Watson (2 years), PF Reggie Evans (3 years, $5 million), SG Keith Bogans, PG Tyshawn Taylor (#41), SF Tornike Shengelia (#54), PF Ilkan Karaman (#57), SG Jerry Stackhouse (1 year, $1.35 million) ... KEEPERS: PG Deron Williams (5 years, $98 million), C Brook Lopez (4 years, $60 million), SF Gerald Wallace (4 years, $40 million), PF Kris Humphries (2 years, $24 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Anthony Morrow, PF Jordan Williams, SG Gerald Green, PG Jordan Farmar, SG DeShawn Stevenson, C Johan Petro ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 25

16. NEW YORKS KNICKS (36-30 season; 1-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: By letting Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields leave, the Knicks made their backcourt a whole lot weaker in the span of one weak. The bench is stronger, but the starting lineup loses a lot of firepower ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SF Carmelo Anthony, PF Amare Stoudemire, C Tyson Chandler, PG Raymond Felton, SG J.R. Smith, PG Jason Kidd ... ADDITIONS: PG Raymond Felton, PG Jason Kidd (3 years, $9 million), C Marcus Camby (3 years, $13 million), SG Ronnie Brewer, C Kurt Thomas, PG Pablo Prigioni (1 year, $473,000), SF James White (1 year, $1.4 million), SF Kostas Papanikoaou (#48) ... KEEPERS: SF Steve Novak (4 years, $15 million), SG J.R. Smith (2 years, $5.6 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: PG Jeremy Lin, SG Landry Fields, PF Jared Jeffries, PF Josh Harrellson, PG Toney Douglas, C Dan Gadzuric, C Jerome Jordan ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 14

17. HOUSTON ROCKETS (34-32 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Well, now what? Rockets GM Daryl Morey's foray into the Dwight Howard Sweepstakes came up empty. But things are not as bad as they appear. The Rockets--with the Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik acquisitions--have acquired a point guard to liven up their offense and a standout defensive center to anchor their D. And with financial flexibility and a 20-deep roster of talent (no joke, no exaggeration), you can be sure Morey's summer of dealing has only just begun ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SG Kevin Martin, PG Jeremy Lin, SF Chandler Parsons, PF Donatas Motiejunas, C Omer Asik, PG Shaun Livingston ... ADDITIONS: PG Jeremy Lin (3 years, $25 million), C Omer Asik (3 years, $25 million), PF Donatas Motiejunas, SG Jeremy Lamb (#12), PF Royce White (#16), PF Terrence Jones (#18), PF Furkan Aldemir (#53), PG Shaun Livingston, PF Josh Harrellson, PF Jon Brockman, SG Toney Douglas, SF Gary Forbes, PF JaJuan Johnson, PF Sean Williams ... SUBTRACTIONS: PG Kyle Lowry, PF Luis Scola, C Samuel Dalembert, C Marcus Camby, SF Chase Budinger, PG Goran Dragic, SG Courtney Lee, SF Lior Eliyahu ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 17

18. NEW ORLEANS HORNETS (21-45 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Not only have the Hornets upgraded their team to playoff contenders--adding Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson and Robin Lopez, among others--they also are set to make a big splash in free agency next season, being able to get perhaps $30 million under the new salary cap ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SG Eric Gordon, PF Anthony Davis, PF Ryan Anderson, SF Al-Farouq Aminu, PG Greivis Vasquez, C Robin Lopez ... ADDITIONS: PF Anthony Davis (#1), PF Ryan Anderson (4 years, $36 million), C Robin Lopez, SF Hakim Warrick, SG Roger Mason, SG Austin Rivers (#10, SF Darius Miller (#46), PF Edin Bavcic ... SUBTRACTIONS: C Emeka Okafor, SF Trevor Ariza, C Chris Kaman, PF Gustavo Ayon, PG Jarrett Jack, SG Marco Belinelli ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 28.

19. UTAH JAZZ (36-30 season; 0-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: By trading for Marvin Williams, the Jazz are waving bye-bye to unrestricted free agent C.J. Miles, just as the Mo Williams acquisition led to Devin Harris being traded. Look for Utah to deal a big man--either Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap--now that Derrick Favors is ready for more playing time ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF Paul Millsap, C Al Jefferson, SG Gordon Hayward, PG Mo Williams, PF Derrick Favors, SF Marvin Williams ... ADDITIONS: SG Randy Foye, PG Mo Williams, SF Marvin Williams, SG Kevin Murphy (#47) ... KEEPERS: SF Jeremy Evans (3 years, $5.5 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: PG Devin Harris ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 16

20. TORONTO RAPTORS (23-43 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: It's a whole new team in Toronto with unsung heroes Landry Fields, Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas joining the team and probably doubling the Raptors' basketball IQ instantly ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SG Landry Fields, PG Kyle Lowry, C Andrea Bargnani, PF Amir Johnson, C Jonas Valanciunas, PG Jose Calderon ... ADDITIONS: SG Landry Fields (3 years, $20 million), PG Kyle Lowry, C Jonas Valanciunas (#5 2011), PG John Lucas III, SG Terrence Ross (#8), SF Quincy Acy (#37), PF Tomislav Zubcic (#56) ... KEEPERS: C Aaron Gray, SG Alan Anderson ... SUBTRACTIONS: PF James Johnson, PG Jerryd Bayless ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 23

21. MILWAUKEE BUCKS (31-35 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Bucks may add a backup center to the mix and may bring back free agent Carlos Delfino. But otherwise, their summer moves are pretty much complete and Milwaukee is just happy that they retained Ersan Ilyasova ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PG Brandon Jennings, SG Monta Ellis, PF Ersan Ilyasova, SG Carlos Delfino (UFA), C Samuel Dalembert, SF Mike Dunleavy ... ADDITIONS: C Samuel Dalembert, PF John Henson (#14), SG Doron Lamb (#42) ... KEEPERS: PF Ersan Ilyasova (5 years, $45 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: PG Shaun Livingston, PF Jon Brockman, PF Jon Leuer ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 19

22. PHILADELPHIA 76ERS (35-31 season; 7-6 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Andrew Bynum acquisition does not make the Sixers any better this season--not with the losses of Andre Iguodala, Elton Brand and Louis Williams--but it does give Philly an identity moving forward. Of course, they need to re-sign Bynum at some point for that identity to take form ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PG Jrue Holiday, C Andrew Bynum, SF Thaddeus Young, SF Evan Turner, PF Lavoy Allen, SG Jason Richardson ... ADDITIONS: C Andrew Bynum, SG Jason Richardson, SF Dorell Wright, SG Nick Young (1 year, $6 million), C Kwame Brown (2 years, $6 million), PG Royal Ivey, PF Arnett Moultrie (#27) ... KEEPERS: C Spencer Hawes (2 years, $13 million), PF Lavoy Allen (2 years, $6 million) ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Andre Iguodala, PF Elton Brand, SG Louis Williams ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 10

23. WASHINGTON WIZARDS (20-46 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: After landing Nene, Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza via trades in 2012, the Wizards roster is pretty much set, especially with the Tuesday amnesty of Andray Blatche, which now brings them $4 million below the salary cap. Washington is still trying to sign a backup guard ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PG John Wall, SF Trevor Ariza, PF Nene, C Emeka Okafor, SG Bradley Beal, SF Chris Singleton... ADDITIONS: C Emeka Okafor, SF Trevor Ariza, PG A.J. Price, SG Bradley Beal (#3), SF Tomas Satoransky (#32) ... KEEPERS: SF Cartier Martin ... SUBTRACTIONS: PF Rashard Lewis, PF Andray Blatche ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 29

24. SACRAMENTO KINGS (22-44 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Kings missed out on Sacramento native Ryan Anderson, but got a nice consolation prize in their own King free agent Jason Thompson. With their team salary over the league minimum, don't look for thrifty Sacramento to make any big moves ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: C DeMarcus Cousins, PG Isaiah Thomas, SG Marcus Thornton, PF Thomas Robinson, SG Tyreke Evans, PF Jason Thompson ... ADDITIONS: PF Thomas Robinson (#5), PF James Johnson, PG Aaron Brooks (2 years, $6.6 million) ... KEEPERS: PF Jason Thompson ... SUBTRACTIONS: C Hassan Whiteside ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 26

25. PHOENIX SUNS (33-33 season; playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Any team that replaces Steve Nash and Grant Hill with Luis Scola, Michael Beasley and Goran Dragic takes a step or two backwards. Yes, the Suns got younger, but they did not get any better ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF Luis Scola, C Marcin Gortat, SF Jared Dudley, PG Goran Dragic, PF Channing Frye, SF Wesley Johnson ... ADDITIONS: PF Luis Scola (3 years), PG Goran Dragic (4 years, $34 million), PF Michael Beasley (3 years, $18 million), SF Wesley Johnson, PG Kendall Marshall (#13), PG Jerome Dyson ... KEEPERS: SG Shannon Brown ... SUBTRACTIONS: PG Steve Nash, SF Grant Hill, C Robin Lopez, SF Hakim Warrick, SF Josh Childress, PG Ronnie Price ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 18

26. PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS (28-38 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Well, the Trail Blazers continued making bad moves when they matched Minnesota's ridiculous 4-year, $46 million offer sheet to Nicolas Batum. Don't look for this very young team to making any more big signings until Summer 2013 ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PF LaMarcus Aldridge, SG Wesley Matthews, SF Nicolas Batum, PG Damian Lillard, C Meyers Leonard, PF Joel Freeland ... ADDITIONS: PG Damian LIllard (#6), C Meyers Leonard (#11), SG Will Barton (#40), PF Joel Freeland (3 years, $9 million), PF Jared Jeffries, PF J.J. SUBTRACTIONS: PG Raymond Felton, SG Jamal Crawford, C Kurt Thomas ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 20

27. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS (21-45 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: Well, the Cavs didn't get an All-Star center, but they did get a lil smidgen better by acquiring the August's best free agent still out there in wing C.J. Miles. The former Jazz small forward is only 25 and may come close to doubling his playing time (20 minutes per game) on this team that needs a 3 ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: PG Kyrie Irving, C Anderson Varejao, SF C.J. Miles, PF Tristan Thompson, SG Dion Waiters, C Tyler Zeller ... ADDITIONS: SF C.J. Miles, SG Dion Waiters (#4), C Tyler Zeller (#17), PF Jon Leuer, PG Jeremy Pargo, SG Kelenna Azubuike ... KEEPERS: PF Luke Harangody ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Anthony Parker, PF Antawn Jamison, SG Manny Harris ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 27

28. ORLANDO MAGIC (37-29 season; 1-4 playoffs) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: It is apparent that Magic GM Rob Hennigan intends to rebuild via the draft--with the accumulation of three protected first-round picks in the Dwight Howard trade, not to mention their own likely high lottery pick. With Howard and Ryan Anderson gone, Orlando is no longer a playoff team. Not even close ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SG Arron Afflalo, PG Jameer Nelson, SF Hedo Turkoglu, PF Al Harrington, SG J.J. Redick, C Glen Davis ... ADDITIONS: SG Arron Afflalo, PF Al Harrington, PF Gustavo Ayon, C Nikola Vucevic, PF Maurice Harkless (#15), PF Andrew Nicholson (#19), PF Kyle O'Quinn (#49) ... KEEPERS: PG Jameer Nelson ... SUBTRACTIONS: C Dwight Howard, PF Ryan Anderson, SG Jason Richardson, SG Von Wafer ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 13

29. DETROIT PISTONS (25-41 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Pistons are already at $62 million, which is $5 million more than their 2011-12 budget, so don't expect Detroit to be players in the free-agent frenzy at all. Summer 2013 is their plan to hit the market ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SF Tayshaun Prince, PG Brandon Knight, C Greg Monroe, PG Rodney Stuckey, SF Corey Maggette, PF Jonas Jerebko ... ADDITIONS: SF Corey Maggette, C Andre Drummond (#9), PF Kyle Singler, SF Khris Middleton (#39), SG Kim English (#44), C Vyacheslav Kravtsov ... SUBTRACTIONS: SG Ben Gordon ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 22

30. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS (7-59 season) ... SUMMER SUMMARY: The Bobcats followed up a good draft with a decent free-agent signing period, netting Brendan Haywood off amnesty and Ramon Sessions off the free-agent wire ... MAIN MINUTEMEN: SG Ben Gordon, SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SG Gerald Henderson, C Brendan Haywood, PG Kemba Walker, C Byron Mullens ... ADDITIONS: SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (#2), SG Jeff Taylor (#31), C Brendan Haywood, PG Ramon Sessions, SG Ben Gordon ... SUBTRACTIONS: PG D.J. Augustin, SF Corey Maggette, SF Jamario Moon ... 2011-12 TOTAL-WINS RANK: 30
