Rock The Vote

I'm not into tabulating electoral college votes or counting delegates' votes at the Republican National Convention, but I do like playing with Basketball Reference's MVP Votes tools over at my favorite statistical website.

Over there I see that when you tabulate cumulative MVP award shares over the years, LeBron James would have won 4.389 MVP awards, which places him sixth on the all-time list, trailing only Bill Russell (4.827), Magic Johnson (5.129), Larry Bird (5.693), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (6.203) and Michael Jordan (8.138).

For other worthy MVP office-holders, check out the following active greats to see how they have done in past voting primaries.

1. LeBron James 4.389

2. Tim Duncan 4.207

3. Kobe Bryant 4.054

4. Kevin Garnett 2.752

5. Steve Nash 2.429

6. Dirk Nowitzki 1.804

7. Kevin Durant 1.387

8. Dwight Howard 1.249

9. Chris Paul 1.184

10. Derrick Rose 0.981

11. Jason Kidd 0.933

12. Tracy McGrady 0.855

13. Dwyane Wade 0.789

14. Grant Hill 0.529
