A Real Super ManSep 8 2010 12:00PM
By HOOPmag.com You hear of NBA players going out of their way to do good off the court, but you really don't hear it enough. Dwight Howard recently paid a visit to Kay Kellogg, a 62-year-old Magic season-ticket holder who is battling a Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma, a very aggressive form of cancer. One of Kellogg's wishes was to meet her favorite Magic player and through the team, the meeting was arranged. You can read the whole story on the Orlando Sentinel, but here's a quote from Kellogg that sums up the big man whose big game is only matched by his bigger heart: "Some people get a choir that sings them into heaven and some people get a chariot that rolls them into heaven. Not me. I want to be slam-dunked smack, dab into the middle of heaven by Dwight Howard." Big ups to you, Dwight Howard. It's easy for you to live up to your nickname on the court; it's nice to see you make good on it off of it as well. blog comments powered by Disqus
