WHAT: Film Auditions to be Hosted at AmericanAirlines Arena

Hollywood filmmaker Robert Townsend and NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas are seeking basketball players for roles in the upcoming film, Playin’ For Love, which begins shooting this November in Historic Overtown.

Playin’ for Love is part of a community film initiative that includes a movie production and student training program designed to provide local youth with a positive alternative to violence. The film centers around an arrogant celebrated high school basketball coach who gets his life turned upside down when a superstar player transfers to his school and his mother tries to take over the team.

Producers of the film are seeking males, ages 16-23 that are able to play basketball. No acting experience is necessary. Participants must arrive on time and in basketball gear.

The auditions are closed to the general public. Individuals interested in auditioning can register online at the City of Miami’s CRA’s website at www.miamicra.com/seopwcra.
