Jason Jackson hosts Midnight Karaoke at Relay for Life
In April, HEAT television host and courtside reporter Jason Jackson hosted Midnight Karaoke at Palmetto Bay/Cutler Bay Relay for Life.
Upon his arrival, Jackson walked around the luminaria-lined track greeting any Relayers who were still awake at the time. After sharing his own experience losing his father to cancer years ago, Jackson thanked the crowd for their efforts in the fight against cancer.
Jackson went on to host Midnight Karaoke at the event, pumping up the crowd and keeping them alert through the wee hours of the morning. Before leaving, Jackson joined in the karaoke fun and sang “Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown.
Relay for life is an all-night fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in which teams of participants from churches, businesses, social organizations, and youth groups gather together to walk a track in honor or in memory of their loved ones impacted by cancer.
While the night usually begins with many lively participants during the survivor lap and the luminaria ceremony, the group normally becomes fatigued and dwindles between the hours of midnight through sunrise. Jackson arrived just in time to provide the pick-me-up the Relay for Life participants needed.
