MIAMI, August 6 – The defending NBA Champion Miami HEAT announced its 2013-14 regular season schedule today. The 82-game schedule consists of 41 home dates, all at AmericanAirlines Arena, and 41 road contests, and runs from October 29, 2013 through April 16, 2014. Sun Sports will air 70 HEAT game broadcasts, all in high definition, and the HEAT will make 27 national television appearances, with Miami appearing 10 times on ESPN, nine times on TNT, six times on ABC and two times on NBA TV (but will be eligible for up to seven additional appearances on NBA TV via fan voting as part of the Tuesday night Fan Night campaign). Additionally, the Miami HEAT Radio Network, led by its flagship station The Ticket Miami (790AM & 104.3FM), will carry all of the team’s regular season games in English, while Univision Radio’s Radio Mambi (710AM) or Mix 98.3FM (regular season conflict games) will broadcast each game in Spanish.

Miami kicks off its 26th season when it hosts the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, October 29 at 8PM, in a nationally televised contest on TNT. The game will feature a ceremony in which the team receives their championship rings and raises the 2013 NBA Championship banner to the rafters of AmericanAirlines Arena. This marks the 18th time in franchise history that the team will open the season at home, and the second time it will face the Bulls on opening night. Miami plays its first road contest on Wednesday, October 30 at 7PM at Philadelphia.

The schedule features several exciting match-ups, including a rematch against NBA Finals opponent and the Western Conference Champion San Antonio Spurs on January 26 at 1PM. The Indiana Pacers, Miami’s Eastern Conference Finals opponent, visit on December 18 (7PM) and April 11 (7:30PM), while the New York Knicks visit Miami twice, on February 27 (8PM) and April 6 (1PM). The Chicago Bulls make their second trip to Miami on February 23 (3:30PM), and the re-tooled Brooklyn Nets visit Miami on March 12 (7PM) and April 8 (8PM). Miami will travel to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on December 25 at 2PM. This marks the 10th time overall that Miami has played on Christmas Day, and the ninth time in the last 10 years.

The HEAT’s longest homestands will be two five-game stretches from December 14-23 and March 31-April 8. Miami’s longest stretch of road games is six games, from January 9-20 and February 5-20 (with the latter separated by the All-Star Break). Additionally, the HEAT will play 17 back-to-backs.

Miami will have nine home games in March, and eight in November. The month in which Miami plays the highest number of games is March, when the HEAT hits the hardwood 18 times. The month the HEAT is on the road the most is also March, with nine games away from AmericanAirlines Arena.
