Dwyane Wade Goes to Prom

On Friday May 17, HEAT Guard Dwyane Wade took a break from his busy schedule and surprised a high school senior at her prom.

Nicole Muxo, who was utterly surprised at Wade’s arrival, is a student at Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School. Muxo asked Wade to prom via a YouTube video. She also asked him to homecoming earlier in the school year, but Wade was not able to attend. Wade said he showed up to the dance because he was impressed by her persistence.

“She continued to go for it no matter how many times I told her I’m going to be busy,” Wade told CBS Miami.

Wade and Muxo danced and took pictures together. Muxo said that while she asked Wade to join her at prom, she didn’t expect him to actually show up.

“I had no idea he was there and was actually going to walk in,” said Muxo. “I’m going to remember it forever. This was definitely the highlight of my senior year.”
