MIAMI, May 12 – The Miami HEAT announced today that guard Dwyane Wade was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. The second-year player ranked 13th in the NBA in steals, averaging 1.57 steals per game and 36th in the league in blocks, averaging 1.06 blocks per contest. Wade led the HEAT with 121 steals while placing second on the team with 82 blocks, which were also tops among all NBA guards. Brown (Second Team, 1996-97, 1998-99) as the only HEAT players to be named to the All-Defensive Team.
