Radio Mambi’ To Become HEAT Spanish Radio Flagship Station For Remainder of Regular Season And Playoffs

MIAMI, Mar. 30 – The Miami HEAT announced today that WAQI-710 AM Radio Mambí will serve as the Spanish radio flagship station beginning with the HEAT game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on April 1. Due to the scheduling conflict with the Florida Marlins, Radio Mambí will broadcast games for the remainder of the regular season and the 2006 NBA Playoffs. WQBA will return as the official Spanish radio flagship station of the Miami HEAT for the 2006-07 NBA season.

José Pañeda, the Spanish voice of the HEAT, will handle play-by-play duties while Joe Pujala will serve as analyst and the host of the halftime and post-game show. Sarvelio Del Valle, Radio Mambí’s sports director, will also serve as host.

WAQI is a sister station of WQBA and part of the Univision Radio Network. WAQI, a 50,000 watt station, is rated number 1 among AM radio stations, reaching South Florida’s Hispanic adult listeners from Key West to West Palm Beach, and Miami to Naples.
