O’Neal Suffers Flap Tear In the Articular Cartilage of His Left Knee

MIAMI, Nov. 17 – The Miami HEAT announced today that center Shaquille O’Neal is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a flap tear in the articular cartilage of his left knee in Miami’s Nov. 12 game against Houston on Nov. 12. HEAT team physician Dr. Harlan Selesnick will perform surgery on the 13-time All-Star at a date to be determined. After surgery, O’Neal can begin rehabilitation immediately. O’Neal has seen action in three games this year and has averaged 14 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.00 blocks and 30.8 minutes.
