Lesley Swanson Named NEW HeaTV Host

MIAMI, October 19 - The 2006 NBA Champion Miami HEAT announced today that Lesley Swanson has been hired as its new HEATV host. HEATV is the club’s precedent setting in-house broadcast channel. As host of HEATV, Swanson will provide live in-arena commentary, participate in videotaped segments and interact with celebrities and HEAT fans attending games at the AmericanAirlines Arena. HEATV alumni include its original spokesperson, Jill Martin, who hosted from 2000-03 and is now a sports anchor for WFOR Channel 4 in Miami, and most recently, Julie Donaldson, who hosted from 2003-06, and now works as an announcer for SportsNet New York in Manhattan.

Swanson’s experience includes sporting and non-sporting projects. In 2004, she held a position co-hosting for The Golf Channel’s Big Break II and in 2003, she hosted HGTV’s Fine Living Channel special, Ten Perfect Summer Getaways. From 2000-03, Swanson hosted AV Squad, an alternative music video and magazine show on the National Lampoon Network, which currently serves over 600 colleges and universities throughout the United States. Additionally, Swanson has worked as a freelance sideline reporter for ESPN Baseball. She also has experience behind the camera having contributed to productions for the Burly Bear Network, Hudson River Pictures and ESPN’s 1999 and 2000 ESPY Awards.

A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Swanson currently lives in Miami with her husband, Tim, and their 21-month-old son, Trey. They are expecting their second child in January.
