“25 Years of HEAT” Featuring Dan Majerle – APRIL 9
MIAMI – As part of its ongoing special retrospective welcoming back HEAT fan favorites, the last installment of 25 Years of HEAT will feature “Thunder” Dan Majerle on April 9 when the HEAT take on the Milwaukee Bucks. Majerle will share his memories with HEAT fans by participating in various pre-game, in-game and on-court activities, including:
- A pre-game appearance on Sun Sports’ HEAT Live show.
- Interviews on English and Spanish HEAT pre-game radio broadcasts.
- An in-arena halftime interview at center court.
- Special guest commentator duties during the Sun Sports television broadcast.
- A pre-game meet and greet opportunity exclusively for HEAT Season Ticket Holders.
Majerle appeared in 955 career NBA games (454 starts) and averaged 11.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.25 steals and 31.6 minutes while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three-point range. The 14-year NBA veteran played five seasons in Miami, appearing in 278 games (184 starts) and averaged 7.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.09 steals and 30.3 minutes while shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range. He connected on at least one three-point field in 32 consecutive games with Miami from November 12, 1999 through January 18, 2000, tying for the fourth-longest streak in HEAT franchise history and his nine made three-point field goals on January 11, 2000 at Minnesota tied for the second-most during a single-game in HEAT franchise history. The HEAT made the playoffs in each of his five seasons, including a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in 1997, as he appeared in 37 career postseason contests with Miami (19 starts) and averaged 7.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.46 steals and 31.2 minutes while shooting 37.4 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from three-point range. Among the HEAT’s all-time lists, he ranks sixth in three-point field goals made (414), 13th in steals (302), 14th in defensive rebounds (976), 14th in minutes played (8,430), 15th in assists (717), 15th in games started (184), 16th in games played (278) and 17th in total rebounds (1,137).
