HEAT, Sun Sports and FSN Florida Win Six 2005 Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards

MIAMI, December 6 – The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) recognized the Miami HEAT, Sun Sports and FSN Florida for programming and production excellence by awarding the team and the networks six 2005 regional Emmy Awards. The HEAT and Florida’s two Fox-owned and managed sports networks each won two awards for their commitment to quality programming following the recent 2005 Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005.

“The Miami HEAT would like to congratulate our employees for their dedication to excellence in television production,” said Eric Woolworth, HEAT President of Business Operations. “We applaud Sun Sports and Fox Sports Florida for their commitment to providing the resources and support necessary to produce such high quality programming.”

The HEAT won an Emmy for the “Promotional Spot – Program” category for its “Every Bounce, Every Basket” promo, which was produced by Ted Ballard, Charlie Luken and AJ Speaks. Nelson Martell was also recognized in the Editing category for the “Dwyane Wade: Rookie Season” segment from “INSIDE THE HEAT: Dwyane Wade” on Sun Sports.

In addition, the HEAT, Sun Sports and FSN Florida also won an Emmy for the “Sports Events, Live Events/Game Coverage” category. Led by the production team of Ned Tate, Ted Ballard, AJ Speaks, Bob Hewitt and Lavaughn Wright and Play-by-Play Announcer Eric Reid, Color Analyst Tony Fiorentino and Sideline Reporter Jason Jackson, this marks the first time in team history that the HEAT, Sun Sports and FSN Florida were recognized for their game coverage.
