Friday Nights Game Was Highest Rated Regular Season HEAT Game Ever on Sun Sports
MIAMI, November 9th The HEAT have announced that Friday nights game vs. the New Orleans Hornets was the highest rated regular season HEAT game ever on Sun Sports. The Sun Sports broadcast posted a 6.8 average TV household rating in Miami/Fort Lauderdale market (107,000 homes), making it the highest rated cable or broadcast program for the entire day. The game peaked at an impressive 9.5 HH rating from 10:15 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (146,000 homes). The previous high for a regular season game on Sun Sports was 6.5 on January 7, 1998 vs. Chicago, Michael Jordans last game in Miami as a member of the Bulls.
Four of the HEAT six regular season games this season have registered a 5.4 rating or higher. Last season, the only game to register at least a 5.0 rating was the Game 5 playoff matchup against the Boston Celtics (5.96). The last regular season game to register at least a 5.0 rating was the March 4, 2008 game vs. the Phoenix Suns (5.57), a contest that marked the return of former HEAT center Shaquille ONeal.
Ratings on Sun Sports are up 96% over last season.
