HEAT Sign Mike Gansey and Chris Quinn

MIAMI, July 7th - The Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed guards Mike Gansey and Chris Quinn. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Gansey played two seasons at the West Virginia University after transferring from St. Bonaventure University. While at West Virginia, Gansey averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.75 steals over the course of 68 games, all starts. As a senior, he led West Virginia in rebounds (189), steals (62), field goal percentage (.550) and three-point field goal percentage (.429). Gansey was named to The Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America team and was a First-Team All-Big East selection after averaging 16.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.94 assists and 1.88 steals. While at St. Bonaventure, Gansey averaged 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 1.11 steals appearing in 57 games, including four starts. He finished eighth in the Atlantic 10 in three-point shooting percentage (.402) during his sophomore season.

Quinn, a three-year starter and two-time co-captain at the University of Notre Dame, averaged 14.6 points, 3.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.27 steals in 122 games (80 starts) during his four-year career. As a senior, he led the team in scoring (17.7 ppg), assists (6.4 apg) and was tied for first in steals (1.55 spg) while shooting 42 percent (70-of-167) from three-point range. He posted two points-assists double-doubles and also dished out a career-high 10 assists on two occasions. Quinn was a First Team All-Big East selection and also was a Big East Academic All-Star selection as a junior and freshman.
