MIAMI, December 23rd - The Miami HEAT announced today that they have request waivers on forward Derrick Byars.
He appeared in two preseason games with the HEAT totaling 15 points and two rebounds while shooting 6-of-8 from the field, 2-of-4 from three-point range and made his only shot from the foul line in 18 minutes of action.
Byars originally signed with the HEAT on December 10, 2011.
