HEAT Playoffs: Black Is Back 2010

Presented By Miccosukee Resort & Gaming ▪ HEAT Playoff Promotion Aims to Activate South Florida

MIAMI, 4/16 - The Miami HEAT have announced the formal unveiling of its 2010 NBA Playoffs promotional campaign: Black is Back 2010. Black is Back 2010 re-establishes the color Black as the focal point for all playoff-related activities, with the color Black serving as a community-wide rallying point; something everyone in South Florida can get behind and participate in. Black will not only be the color fans wear to the game, it will become a recognizable symbol of support for the HEAT in all daily activities.

“Black is Back 2010 is intended to pick up the momentum the team has developed heading into the playoffs and to provide continuity with last season’s playoff campaign,” said HEAT Group President of Business Operations Eric Woolworth.  “While the color might be the same, the Black is Back 2010 look is bolder, bigger, and stronger.  We’re confident HEAT fans will embrace black once again and show their support by wearing the color not only at HEAT games, but throughout the playoffs.”

The HEAT has revolutionized the use of color schemes in the playoffs. In 2004, Black was introduced in the “Back in Black” playoffs. The next season, HEAT fans proved they were “red-dy” for its 2005 playoff campaign, “The Red Zone.” During the HEAT’s championship and championship-defense seasons (2005-06; 2006-07), South Florida felt “the heat of a flame burning at its highest intensity” in the “White Hot” playoffs. And last season, when the team garnered 43 wins, Black was Back.

In preparation for the start of the Black is Back 2010 playoffs, the HEAT, its corporate partners and local municipalities have outlined numerous activities designed to energize South Florida and get everyone excited about the playoffs.
