HEAT Invite Fans to leave Well-Wishes on Cole Family Good Luck Van

MIAMI, May 25– The Miami HEAT is inviting HEAT fans all over South Florida to leave their well wishes on the Cole Family’s good luck vehicle—a 1993 Chevy van owned by rookie Norris Cole’s parents which has transported his family members to sporting events throughout his playing career.

Known affectionately as the “Green Machine,” the van has a storied championship history: whenever his family drove it to attend a championship game, Cole’s team invariably won the championship.

“No story would be complete about Norris without this van,” said Cole’s mother, Diane. “It’s been part of our family since Norris and [sister] Deonna were babies. It’s been to every championship that he’s been a part of.”

With the HEAT competing in the 2012 White Hot HEAT Playoffs, the “Green Machine” will take up residence in front of the AmericanAirlines Arena (between Gates 1 and 2), where it will remain throughout the duration of the HEAT post season. Fans are encouraged to inscribe good luck messages to the HEAT on the van with white markers with the goal of turning the “Green Machine” completely White Hot. Fans can begin leaving their messages on the van starting on Monday, May 28th at 6:30 p.m. prior to the start of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
