HEAT and Converse Enter Into Partnership for Remainder of 2006 HEAT PlayoffsMay 3 2006 3:34PM
MIAMI, May 1 – The Miami HEAT announced today that they have entered into a partnership with Converse for the remainder of the 2006 HEAT Playoffs. The partnership will begin Monday, May 1 and will last for the duration of the HEAT playoff run.
Included in the partnership, the HEAT and Converse, makers of Dwyane Wade’s signature shoe, the Converse WADE, will give away five full-size basketball hoop sets through an online promotion. HEAT fans can log onto HEAT.com to tell why they should receive a free basketball hoop set. Converse and the HEAT will review all entries and select five winners. The top two winning entries will receive a basketball hoop set delivered by Wade and the HEAT Entertainment in November in conjunction with the start of the 2006-07 season and the launch of a new Converse performance basketball shoe. The remaining three winners will have their sets delivered by the HEAT Entertainment Team. Contest dates will be announced at a later time. In addition, Converse will team up with the HEAT Xtreme Team to execute the HEAT Xtreme Team Ballers Program, where three members of the HEAT’s high-flying acrobatic troupe will visit local basketball courts during after school hours and reward ballers with a Converse gift item. Possible locations for this promotion include Jose Marti Park, Flamingo Park and Cagni Park, among other Dade-County basketball courts. “Converse and I have a great working relationship, so I’m happy to see that relationship being extended to the Miami HEAT,” said All-Star guard Dwyane Wade. “I’m looking forward to getting out in the community to help promote the Converse brand and the Miami HEAT through this promotion.” |
