HEAT Activate Haslem, Place Walker on Injured List
MIAMI, Jan. 13 - Miami HEAT President Pat Riley announced prior to tonight’s game at Sacramento that the HEAT has activated forward Udonis Haslem from the injured list and placed forward Samaki Walker on the injured list with right ankle bone spurs.
Haslem, a 6’8”, 230-pound rookie from the University of Florida, was placed on the injured list prior to Miami’s Dec. 29 contest at Chicago with a right knee sprain and a strained Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL). He has missed Miami’s last seven games. Haslem appeared in each of Miami’s first 30 games this season and started the first 18 contests. He is averaging 6.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 24.4 minutes. Haslem, who injured the knee in Miami’s Dec. 27 contest against New York, currently ranks third on the team in offensive rebounds (57), defensive rebounds (120) and total rebounds (177). Among rookies this season he ranks fourth in rebounding average, sixth in field goal percentage (.423), eighth in minutes per game, 10th in free throw percentage (.740), 12th in scoring average and 20th in assists per game (0.8 apg). Walker, a 6’9”, 250-pound forward, has appeared in 20 games this season and has averaged 3.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 14.6 minutes. |
