HEAT & AmericanAirlines Arena Sign Deal with Gatrou Group

MIAMI, October 5 – The Miami HEAT and AmericanAirlines Arena signed an exclusive deal with Gatrou Group, a sales and marketing company based in Coral Gables, to feature a new advertising concept, QReflection Advertising Mirrors, throughout the Arena. The five-year deal is estimated to be worth more than $2 million, said Mari Palacio, President of Gatrou Group.

The deal between the Gatrou Group, AmericanAirlines Arena and the HEAT will provide 61 QReflection Advertising Mirrors placed strategically throughout the Arena. The QReflection Mirror transforms a bright, full-color, backlit advertisement into a functional mirror. The QReflection Mirror is wall-mounted and equipped with a motion sensor that creates an “on-off” effect. As someone approaches the displayed advertisement, their movement is detected by the sensor and instantly transforms the billboard into a fully-functional mirror. The mirror uses cold cathode fluorescent lighting to display its backlit advertisement.

“QReflection is captivating; it lures the consumer in an engaging and interactive manner,” said Palacio. “Because this medium interacts with consumers, we feel the QReflection Mirrors will be a huge hit with guests.”

“We were very impressed with the QReflection technology and the fact that guests at the AmericanAirlines Arena would be able to interact with the signage. “We're happy to be one of the first facilities in the country to feature this dynamic advertising product," said Eric Woolworth, HEAT President of Business Operations.
