Fans Encouraged to Participate in Activities from October 20 – October 29

MIAMI – As the Miami HEAT prepares for the start of the 2013-14 season, the franchise aims to engage with its fans during the days leading up to the Home Opener versus Eastern Conference rival, the Chicago Bulls on October 29. Presented by Pepsi, HEAT Week will take place from October 20 through October 29, and the HEAT will host a different event each day to generate enthusiasm amongst HEAT fans locally and around the world. During HEAT Week, the festivities will activate HEAT fans in a variety of exciting ways including various unique events and opportunities to feel the HEAT experience live.

October 20 HEAT Hispanic Heritage Celebration Presented by Pepsi, Supported by Florida Blue & Sun Sports
  11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Miami HEAT will host its eighth annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration presented by Pepsi and supported by Florida Blue and Sun Sports with a morning of basketball drills, field day games, table games and dance lessons. This is a closed event.
October 21 HEAT Car Decal Event
  6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
On Monday, October 21, HEAT fans will have the opportunity to stop by the AmericanAirlines Arena during their morning commute and have a FREE HEAT window decal placed on their cars (while supplies last). The HEAT Dancers, Burnie, the Xtreme Team and Banana Man will be distributing free HEAT gear and Kickstart by Mountain Dew as they help HEAT fans get their rides ready for the 2013-14 season.

Special Ticket Promotion:
Fans that purchase at least two tickets to a November HEAT home game between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. through the special website www.HEATDecalTickets.com will also receive a free car decal.
October 22 Pepsi Ride Along
  12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Attention South Florida: Pepsi and the HEAT Experience will conduct a ride-along on the streets of South Florida to help HEAT fans prepare for the 2013-14 season. The HEAT Dancers, Burnie and the Xtreme Team will make surprise stops at select locations in the Miami area equipped with giveaways, game tickets and Pepsi products. October 23 HEAT Papa John’s Takeover
  7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
HEAT up your Wednesday night with Papa John’s! When you order a Papa John’s pizza from select Papa John’s locations in Miami-Dade during tonight’s HEAT @ New Orleans Pelicans game, it could be delivered to you by the HEAT Dancers, Burnie, or the Xtreme Team! Plus, 100 lucky HEAT fans who order a Papa John’s pizza while watching the game will be randomly selected to receive a free two liter bottle of Pepsi. HEAT fans that order Papa John’s pizza during the game will also have the chance to win a pair of tickets to an upcoming HEAT home game.
  HEAT @ New Orleans Pelicans
  8:00 p.m.
The HEAT travels to New Orleans Arena to take on the Pelicans at 8:00 p.m. in a preseason match up. Watch the game on Sun Sports or listen to the game in English on The New FM 104.3 & AM 790 The Ticket.

October 24  HEAT Happy Hour Presented By Miller Lite
  6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
HEAT fans can start their weekend early by joining the HEAT Experience for HEAT Happy Hour presented by Miller Lite and hosted at Whiskey Tango in Hollywood. The HEAT Dancers, Burnie, the Xtreme Team and DJ MDOT will host the festivities. Fans can enjoy Miller Lite specials including $2.50 bottles and $3.00 Miami HEAT Commemorative Championship aluminum pints. And the Miller Lite Girls will be distributing Miller Lite promotional items. Whiskey Tango is located at 1903 Hollywood Boulevard.

Special Ticket Promotion: Tickets to all HEAT home weeknight games during the months of November and December will be offered at “Happy Hour” prices. From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., 400 Level tickets will be priced at just $24. Fans can buy tickets online at www.HEATHappyHour.com.
October 25 Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami HEAT
  7:30 p.m.
The new-look Brooklyn Nets make a preseason stop in the Magic City to take on the HEAT at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online. You can also watch the game on Sun Sports or listen to it in English on The New FM 104.3 & AM 790 The Ticket and in Spanish on AM 710 Radio Mambí.
October 26 “Together We Rise” Movie Premiere WALLCAST @ New World Symphony/SoundScape Park
  8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
HEAT fans are invited to join the HEAT Dancers, Burnie, the Xtreme Team and host, Jason Jackson at the New World Symphony/SoundScape Park for a WALLCAST of “Together We Rise,” a HEATV original documentary of the team’s historical 25th season including their preseason visits to Beijing and Shanghai, the unforgettable 27-game win streak and the 2013 Championship. The movie will be shown on a 7,000 square foot exterior projection wall using state-of-the-art audio and visual technology. Fans are encouraged to bring their own blankets, chairs and snacks. The SoundScape is located at 500 17th Street in Miami Beach.
October 27  HEAT Twitter Challenge presented by NBA 2K14
  twHEAT fans, take heed: follow @MiamiHEAT throughout the day as every hour on the hour beginning at noon and finishing at midnight, Twitter followers will have the opportunity to win a variety of HEAT prizes.
October 28 HEAT Digital Download Day  
  Be the first to download the latest HEAT graphics on your phone, tablet or desktop. The HEAT will debut their new graphic look for the 2013-14 season on www.HEAT.com with new wallpapers, photos, and more. Fans are encouraged to use the hashtag #ImaHEATFan as they prepare for the season.     
  HEAT McDonald’s Takeover
  12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The HEAT Experience will descend upon the McDonald’s restaurant located at 2690 Sterling Road, Hollywood, FL. The HEAT Dancers, Burnie and the Xtreme Team will serve product, entertain and interact with customers, as well as give away HEAT tickets and other cool stuff.

Special Ticket Promotion: McDonald’s customers that visit the 2690 Sterling Road location will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket for the Washington Wizards game on November 3rd and receive a ticket to the Phoenix Suns game on November 25th for free.
October 29 Opening Night 2013: Chicago Bulls vs. Miami HEAT
  Doors Open at 6:00 pm; Ring Ceremony activities begin at 7:15 p.m.
The Home Opener on October 29 promises to be an unforgettable night when the back-to-back defending champion Miami HEAT receive their 2013 NBA Championship rings before taking on their Eastern Conference rivals, the Chicago Bulls. The night will be highlighted by the raising of the Championship banner, the premiere of the 2013-14 Player Introduction Sequence, a special collector’s edition of Tipoff magazine, and the debut of the Jostens Championship Ring Merchandise Collection.

HEAT Classics on Sun Sports
Additionally, Sun Sports will participate in HEAT Week by rebroadcasting each of the four NBA Finals games the HEAT won en route to securing their third NBA Championship. The series begins on Tuesday, October 22nd at 8:00 p.m. and will end with Miami’s unforgettable Game 7 title-clinching win over the Spurs, immediately following the conclusion of the preseason finale versus the Brooklyn Nets on October 25th.
