Dwyane Wade Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

MIAMI, December 13 The NBA announced today that Miami HEAT guard Dwyane Wade was named the Eastern Conference Player of Week for games played December 6-12. This marks the 26th time in franchise history a HEAT player has earned Player of the Week honors and marks a franchise-record 13th time Wade has received the accolades.

He led the HEAT to a perfect 4-0 week, winning all games by double-digits, averaging 30.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.00 steals while shooting 58.4 percent (45-of-77) from the field and 50.0 percent (3-of-6) from three-point range. He posted one double-double while recording at least 25 points in all four games and tallied at least four rebounds and four assists in each contest. He led the team in scoring three times, rebounds twice and assists, steals and blocks in one game apiece.

Wade posted game highs of 25 points and a career-high 14 rebounds at Milwaukee on December 6 while dishing out five assists and blocking one shot in a team-high 39:03 minutes of action. He then dropped 28 points at Utah on December 8 while tallying four rebounds, four assists and two steals in a team-high 40:54 minutes. On December 10 at Golden State, he scored a game-high 34 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds while dishing out four assists in 34:30 minutes. On the second night of a back-to-back set on December 11 at Sacramento, he scored a game-high 36 points while posting six rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 35:37 minutes of action. Wade finished the week having shot at least 60 percent from the field in six of the last seven games and is currently shooting 60.8 percent (73-of-120) during the month of December.

Among league leaders this season, Wade ranks tied for 11th in scoring (23.1), tied for 24th in steals (1.46), tied for 33rd in assists (4.4), 37th in minutes (35.3), 38th in field goal percentage (.494), tied for 39th in blocks (0.96) and 40th in rebounds (6.5).
