Draft 2003: Q and A with Chris Bosh

What’s this whole process been like for you?

Bosh: “It’s been long and it’s been intense, with all the traveling, working out and playing against good competition every time you work out. It’s been real tough.”

What was the decision behind coming out early…was it to see how high you were going to go?

Bosh: “Yeah, pretty much…That was just the reason for coming out – just draft status and me being comfortable with it. After talking with my family and coach, Coach Hewitt, this was the best decision for me…After looking hard it, coming back next year, you never know what happens with not playing well and injury…”

What do you find you still need to work on?

Bosh: “Post-defense, just defense all-around and strength. There are probably a lot of minor things I need to work on, but those are the main two things that I see in myself.”

What are you strengths?

Bosh: “Just creating an offense at full-court and half-court…Just being aggressive, scoring and helping my teammates out.”

Can you talk about the feeling of knowing you’re not going to be part of that team (Georgia Tech) next year, you’re moving on…The whole feeling behind that…

Bosh: “Yeah, it’s a tough feeling, but to me, I’m always going to be a part of that team because you bond with the guys so closely…I am always going to watch them play, and I’ll always be behind them.”
