Dexter Pittman Recalled from NBA Development League

MIAMI, February 13 – The Miami HEAT announced today that center Dexter Pittman has been recalled from the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. He was re-assigned to the HEAT’s D-League affiliate for his third stint on February 3. He was originally assigned to Sioux Falls on December 26 and recalled on January 17 before being re-assigned on January 18 and recalled on January 20.

Pittman has appeared in 15 games (12 starts) with Sioux Falls this season and averaged 12.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.67 blocks and 24.9 minutes while shooting 47 percent from the field. He posted six double-doubles and was named to the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase Second Team. In his most recent stint, a three-game stretch, he scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 106-99 win at Fort Wayne, posted 11 points, six rebounds and a block in a 103-88 victory at Erie, and then scored six points, grabbed eight rebounds while blocking two shots in a 96-79 win vs. Iowa, helping lead the Skyforce to a perfect 3-0 over that span.

Pittman will rejoin the HEAT and be available for Thursday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
