Crotty to Join HEAT Radio Broadcast

MIAMI, January 1- John Crotty, an 11-year NBA veteran, will join play-by-play announcer Mike Inglis as color commentator for all remaining HEAT home games heard on WIOD 610 AM. Crotty's first broadcast will be January 1, 2005 against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Crotty began his playing career with the Utah Jazz in 1992, where he was signed as an undrafted rookie out of the University of Virginia. During his career, Crotty played for seven different NBA teams (Utah, Cleveland, Miami, Portland, Seattle, Detroit and Denver), averaging 4.0 points and 2.1 assists in 447 career games. During the 1996-97 season, Crotty averaged 4.8 points and 2.1 assists in 48 games for the HEAT.

Before joining the HEAT radio broadcast, Crotty provided color commentary for men's basketball on Florida International University radio. Last season, he filled in as an analyst for the HEAT telecast against the Golden State Warriors.
