ADT to Secure HEAT Championship Trophy

MIAMI, November 3 – The NBA Champion Miami HEAT announced today that ADT Security Services has created a specially designed security solution for the Larry O’Brien Trophy Display that will house the Larry O’Brien Trophy at Miami Hoops Gear, the official team store located on the Mezzanine Level of the AmericanAirlines Arena. The unveiling of ADT’s security technology took place during Opening Night on October 31.

ADT is helping to secure the trophy using a combination of the latest security technologies. An ADT Focus® Cadet burglar alarm panel and multiple redundant sensing technologies are installed and monitored by ADT’s world class Customer Monitoring Centers. Additionally, Arena security staff will have access to ADT Safewatch® VideoView, which will allow their security team to view live video of the trophy at any time over any internet connection, as well as send their security staff an email and video snapshots each time the trophy case is accessed. Additional closed circuit television cameras and digital recording technology will record all activity around the trophy.

“The Miami HEAT and the AmericanAirlines Arena have worked diligently with ADT Security Services in order to create a truly unique presentation partnership for our most prized possession, the Larry O’Brien Trophy,” said Eric Woolworth, HEAT President of Business Operations. “We have worked hard to capture the NBA’s Championship Trophy and we are happy to have ADT assist in helping us to secure and defend it. This partnership will also allow us to showcase the trophy in Miami Hoops Gear, the HEAT team store, so that all HEAT fans can enjoy it when they visit arena during the 2006-07 season.”

“A long-time sponsor of AmericanAirlines Arena, ADT Security Services offered its proprietary technologies to secure the HEAT’s 2006 Championship Trophy display, the first secure display of its kind,” said John Koch, Chief Operating Officer of ADT Security Services. “Like the HEAT, ADT is also focused on winning and as America’s number one provider of electronic security systems and services, we define winning by working every day to earn the trust our customers place in us and to provide uninterrupted peace of mind.”

In addition to securing the trophy at the Arena, ADT will continue to secure the trophy wherever it goes.
