Nine-Year-Old Michael Stolzenberg Contracted a Serious Disease and Lost His Hands and Feet, Fundraiser Will Help Pay Medical Bills

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – May 5, 2009 – A fundraiser for nine-year-old Michael Stolzenberg, who tragically lost both his hands and feet from an infection he got from a bug bite last year, will be held on Sunday May 17 from 10:00 am to 2 pm at Xtreme Indoor Karting in Ft. Lauderdale.

Mikey has chronic granulomatous disease, a condition that allowed the infection to invade his body resulting in the loss of both his hands and feet. Because Mickey needs advanced prosthetics and much more medical care, his family, friends (and sponsors) will be hosting a fundraiser on May 17 at Xtreme Indoor Karting.

Mikey has become a celebrity of sorts – his love of sports got him a nod from Dwyane Wade of the Miami HEAT. Wade gave Stolzenberg a game jersey at a recent HEAT Game.

The May 17 event – No Limit For Mikey - will include go-carting races, arcade play and four hours of miniature golf for children and adults. Bring the whole family for a good time and a good cause. Generous packages of kart racing, arcade play and miniature golf play range $30 to $180 for four people.

There are corporate (and individual) sponsorships available as well.
