HEAT Scores Record TV Ratings On Sun Sports For Second Time In One Week
No. 1 Rated Program in Miami/Fort Lauderdale Market Among Men 18-49 on Both Cable and Broadcast
MIAMI, FL The HEAT announced today that last nights Phoenix Suns vs. Miami HEAT contest, featuring the much anticipated return of Shaquille ONeal, once again topped Nielson ratings in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. Dwyane Wade had a game-high 35 points and tied his career high of 16 assists as the HEAT defeated the Suns, 135-129. The game was the No. 1 cable program for the entire day, posting a 5.6 HH rating in the market (over 85,000 HHs).
Additionally, it ranked No. 1 overall, cable and broadcast, for the entire day in the coveted Men 18-49 demo (4.74), well ahead of FOXs American Idol results show (3.65 in M18-49).
From 10:00-10:15 p.m., the game peaked at an impressive 7.1 average HH rating (over 108,000 households).
This is the second time this week that a HEAT game has produced impressive ratings on Sun Sports. The team announced on Tuesday that its March 2 contest against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers was the highest rated HEAT game broadcast in nearly two years.
