2003 Mock Draft Recap

Maciej Lampe
"Considered one of the top three young players in Europe right now, Lampe's combination of size, shooting touch, ball-handling skills and an advanced inside-outside games have drawn comparisons to Dirk Nowitzki. His shooting stroke is one of the smoothest we've ever seen in a big kid. He's got a nice body, has a very fluid game, and despite reports to the contrary, looked very good with his back to the basket when ESPN.com saw him play in Spain in May."

T.J. Ford
"The consensus on the draft's top point guard is he'll be gone by the time the seventh pick rolls around. What remains to be seen is who pulls the trigger. The Raptors at No. 4 are interested, while Miami and the L.A. Clippers also have a need for a floor general. The Texas product has helped himself immensely by displaying a vastly improved shooting stroke in individual workouts."

Maciej Lampe
"At just 17 years old, Maciej is the youngest player to ever play with the Real Madrid First Team. Some consider Lampe the best young prospect in European Basketball. Lampe has the potential to become an NBA player in just a few years. He is strong and has unusual fundaments for a 17 years old player. He is best playing the power-forward position but he has the versatility to play the SF position with his great shooting and ball handling. His lateral quickness and movements are very fast and agile."

Chris Bosh
"With 'Zo's situation, they need a center. They had a great find last year in Caron Butler. They also desperately need a point guard."

Fox Sports.com

Dwayne Wade
" If Toronto goes for T.J. Ford, the HEAT will likely elect to go with Chris Bosh here."

MSNBC Sports

T.J. Ford
"Here is the nucleus: Caron Butler, Eddie Jones, Brian Grant and Alonzo Mourning. What's missing? A point guard. There are some things to question, though. I look at Ford and don't see the typical Riley point guard; a scorer. Ford's range is questionable; he's 5-10 (maybe). But he can play. A lot might depend on whether they keep Mourning."
