SATURDAY - HEAT DEFEAT CAVS


Freije poured in a game-high-tying 25 points, including 5-of-6 from three-point range, and grabbed eight boards, as Miami defeated Cleveland, 94-89, in Game #13 at the RDV Sportsplex. Wang Zhi-Zhi tallied 18 points for the Heat (1-4), while Ron Hale added 14. Dan Langhi led the way for the Cavaliers with 25 points.

  • FRIDAY - MAGIC DEFEAT HEAT


    Keith Bogans, who missed the last game due to a strained right ankle, returned to action on Friday and netted 20 points. However, first round selection Jameer Nelson missed his second straight contest due to a strained left knee. Wang Zhi-Zhi led the Heat with 15 points. Orlando won its second straight contest and improved to 2-2. Miami dropped to 0-4.

  • THURSDAY - CELTICS DOWN HEAT


    Marcus Banks and Tony Allen each netted 13 points, as Boston downed Miami, 73-60, in Game #9 at the RDV Sportsplex. Kendrick Perkins added 11 points for the Celtics, who improved to 2-1. Wang Zhi-Zhi led the Heat and all scorers with 17 points. Miami dropped to 0-3.

  • WEDNESDAY - NETS DEFEAT HEAT


    Jerome Beasley led the game with 17 points, but it wasn't enough to keep the New Jersey Nets from winning 99-67. Dorell Wright did not play in the game due to left groin strain.

  • TUESDAY - HEAT FALL TO WIZARDS


    The Wizards controlled the game from start to finish and cruised to a 89-59 victory over Miami in Game #1 of the Pepsi Pro Summer League in Orlando. Jarvis Hayes led the way for Washington with 19 points, while Jared Jeffries added 17 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Dorrell Wright, the HEAT's 2004 first round draft choice (19th overall), led all scorers with 30 points.
