MVP: LeBron James 2012 Home

MIAMI, May 12 - The Miami HEAT are encouraging fans not to miss Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals as the entire afternoon will be a celebration of the recent announcement that LeBron James has been named the Kia Most Valuable Player—the first Miami HEAT player to win the prestigious award. Game 1 of the best-of-seven series against the Indiana Pacers will be hosted at the AmericanAirlines Arena Sunday, May 13 at 3:30 p.m.

The following is a list of the activities planned for Game 1:

  • The Kia Most Valuable Player Award Presentation will take place pre-game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early.
  • In recognition of LeBron James' signature headgear, all fans in attendance will receive a LeBron James headband presented by Nike. Fans will be asked to put on their headbands prior to the start of the pre-game MVP ceremony to show their appreciation for the team's first-ever MVP.
  • 20,000 LeBron James placards will be distributed to all fans as they enter the Arena. The placards feature an image of LeBron James and are presented by Kia.
  • Miami Hoops Gear will have the exclusive LeBron James MVP t-shirt available for purchase at the flagship store in the Arena, the satellite sales locations throughout the concourses, at the Dolphin Mall location and online at MiamiHoopsGear.com.
  • A commemorative version of TIPOFF, the official game day program, will honor James’s MVP achievements and will be distributed to fans as they enter the Arena.
  • All remaining tickets for Sunday's Game 1 may be purchased online here or at the AmericanAirlines Arena Ticket Office. Doors to the AmericanAirlines Arena will open 90 minutes prior to the published game time.
