Making his NBA debut in the HEAT's starting lineup, the No. 5 pick of the 2003 Draft struggled to find consistency along with his team.

The HEAT went just 5-15 over its first 20 games, and Wade was erratic, opening his career with 18 points in an 89-74 loss at Philadelphia but registering five games where he failed to score more than 10 points.

Installed as the HEAT's starting point guard after playing at the shooting guard spot for most of his life, Wade averaged 14.1 points and 4.2 assists over the HEAT's first 20 games. He missed two of those games with a right hip pointer, and the HEAT lost both games.

Wade led the HEAT in scoring in four of his 18 games, including 27 in a 100-98 loss at Phoenix on Nov. 22.
