HEAT Dancer Alumnae

Auditions for the Miami HEAT dance team are on Sunday, August 3. Are you the next HEAT Dancer superstar? If you are, we’re looking for you to join the prestigious list of Dancer alumnae who have gone on to stardom. Take a look at former HEAT Dancers who have made it big:

Jessica Sutta

Jessica is best known as the sultry vocalist of the “Pussycat Dolls”. She has also danced in music videos for Will Smith, Beyoncé, Baby Bash, Craig David and Gloria Estefan, among others. Jessica has even had singing success away from the all-girl pop band. Her recent track, “Make It Last,” which she sang with Dave Aude, reached No. 1 on “Billboard” magazine’s Hot Dance Club Play chart in 2007. In addition to singing and dancing, Jessica has acting experience as well, appearing in the Swedish TV soap opera “Ocean Ave.,” which was shot in Florida, and in the blockbuster films “From Justin to Kelly” and “Bully”.

Trista Rehn

Trista rose to stardom in the ABC’s hit reality show “The Bachelor,” where she was the runner-up. ABC then decided to give Trista her own show entitled “The Bachelorette,” where she ended up marrying winner Ryan Sutter. Her wedding was televised as a three episode special, “Trista & Ryan’s Wedding,” which drew an audience of over 26 million. In addition, she has appeared on NBC’s “Fear Factor,” ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and a KFC commercial opposite Jason Alexander.

Johanna Gomez

Does Johanna’s face look familiar? If you’re from Miami, you’ve probably recognize it from TV. Johanna currently serves as an entertainment reporter for WPLG-Miami (ABC Ch. 10).  She was also co-host of the mun2 popular show “fuZion” and host of “MD CONNECTED” for CABLETAP TV, Miami-Dade’s Public Access TV Channel. In 2004, Johanna was selected as Ocean Drive En Español’s “La Gente hot del sur de la Florida.” She was also a presenter for the 2004 Latin Billboard Awards.

Layla El

Layla got her break when she won the “$250,000 WWE Diva Search” contest in 2006. She not only won the money but a contract with the wrestling entertainment company. She made appearances on “Smack Down,” “ECW” and “Raw” and became the first Diva Search winner to appear on all three WWE brands. Now, Layla is beginning to branch out to other areas of entertainment. She has been featured in the magazines of “JET,” “King,” “FHM” and “Smooth” and was featured on the cover of “Liquid” magazine. Layla has also appeared in hip-hop artist/producer Timbaland’s music video “Throw It On Me,” “Family Feud,” “Project Runway” and “Celebrity Fit Club Boot Camp”.

Brooke Long

After spending just one season as a HEAT Dancer, Brooke traveled to the bright lights of Hollywood where she is Suitcase #15 model for NBC’s hit show “Deal or No Deal”. She is also host for HD Networks “Smashbrain TV”, co-host for “Get Out” and has appeared on a variety of television shows including “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment,” “Entourage,” “Bound for Glory” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” She’s been featured in the magazines “Maxim,” “FHM,” “Muscle and Fitness,” “Teen,” “YM,” “M,” “ESPN The Magazine” and “Vegas”. She also tried her hand at acting, appearing in “Orange County,” “Good Advice,” “Tom Cats,” “Gigli,” and “Little Nikki.” Brooke was also featured in the blockbuster film “The Comebacks”.

Susie Garcia

Susie is just one of the many HEAT Dancers who is using dance to live out her dreams.   In addition to dancing for the HEAT, the six-year veteran has performed with Shakira, Daddy Yankee, Kanye West, Diddy, on the MTV Video Music Awards, among other notable music icons and high-profile events. She was also the billed salsa dancer on this season’s “So You Think You Can Dance?”

Jamie Ruiz

Jamie stepped into the spotlight on the popular CW show “Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious”. She was eliminated on the fifth week, but her talents couldn’t be overlooked. Jamie now works in Nevada as part of the Pussycat Dolls’ Vegas act.
