First-Ever HEAT Dancer Car Wash a Splashing Success for Charity
Bringing in more than $2,000 for local charity last Saturday, the Miami HEAT Dancers turned in their dance shoes for buckets of soap and water at the first-ever HEAT Dancer Car Wash for Charity at Don Carter’s Bowling Center in Kendall, benefiting the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund. With cars lined-up all day, the HEAT Dancers, along with the HEAT Xtreme Team and mascot Burnie, washed hundreds of cars during the afternoon of fun in the sun. Everyone who came out for a car wash received a free HEAT Dancer 2002-2003 Team Poster, a free bowling gift certificate and other HEAT goodies. Fans also took pictures with the Dancers, played basketball and enjoyed the music of popular radio stations Salsa 98 and 99 Jamz.
For a $10 donation, the HEAT Dancers, one of the NBA’s most elite and highly acclaimed dance groups, scrubbed away grease and grime and sent each car off shining. All of the proceeds raised will benefit local charities and causes in support of at-risk youth, victims of domestic violence and breast health awareness.
After such a successful event, the Dancers can’t wait for the next HEAT Dancer Car Wash for Charity. It just may be coming to a town near you! |
