 Where are you from? Liberty City.What is your occupation? I am a dance teacher at Madison Middle School. How long have you been dancing? 19 years. What are your specialties? Modern, ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lindy-hop, african, caribbean and lyrical.
Any notable performances? I've done music videos with Lauryn Hill (Doo Wop, That thing), The Puppies (Funky Y2C), JT Money (Super Chick, I choreographed this one), Missy (For the People). Tell us about your professional aspirations. I would like to open my own center for the arts with an emphasis on dance. I would also like to choreograph for musicals and music videos. Tell us about your personal aspirations. I would like to be married by age 27 and I would like to have two children. Besides dancing, what are your hobbies and interests? Singing and traveling. What was your first job and how old were you? My first job was at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center and I was 16. List an exotic place you'd like to visit and why. I would like to visit Hawaii because I've never been and I'm curious to see how beautiful it is. What was the last CD you bought? A BET compilation CD. What's in the trunk of your car? Costumes, a spare tire, cd player. If you could interview one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Janet Jackson, to ask her "when are you going to let me dance for you."What is your favorite book? "In Search of Sisterhood" How would you describe yourself or list one word that describes you. Disciplined, versatile.Your fashion sense can be described as...? Versatile, because I love athletic wear and I also love dressing up (so it ranges). If you won the lottery, what's the first thing you would do/buy? I would buy my family a new home and give some to performing arts center in the inner city. |
