SAMMY SCHULMAN

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Keeping the combined organization of The HEAT Group in financial working order is the responsibility of one of the team's original employees.

As the organization has grown from just a handful of employees, so have the responsibilities of Sammy Schulman, who was promoted to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer prior to the 1995-96 season, added the "Senior" designation in the summer of 1999 and added the "Executive" designation in January of 2006.

Schulman is in charge of the overall accounting, budgeting and treasury functions for the Miami HEAT and Kaseya Center (The HEAT Group). He can also be found assisting with player and sponsor contracts, spearheading organizational and strategic planning issues, and developing and maintaining financial reports, operating budgets and insurance. Additionally, Schulman oversees The HEAT Group IT, Human Resources and Office Administration functions. He is also responsible for the Box Office and the financial relationship with Ticketmaster, the teams third party ticketing partner. He has taken the accounting department from a narrow two-person operation handling only basic payroll and financial reports to a complex financial network which includes budgeting, cash management, financial reporting, insurance, IT, human resources and office management.

Schulman was also part of the core team of personnel who were responsible for arranging the financing and ultimate construction of Kaseya Center. He continues to be involved on a daily basis on all aspects of the operation of Kaseya Center.

Prior to joining the HEAT as its first Controller in November 1987, Schulman spent five years working for the accounting firm of Peat Marwick Main & Co. in Dallas, where he was manager on the audit staff. A Certified Public Accountant, Schulman is a member of the Florida State Board of Public Accountancy as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Schulman also serves on the Board of Directors for the Broward Jewish Federation. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Texas in May 1982. He and his wife, Elizabeth (Ibby), their twin daughters Brittany and Amanda and son, Benjamin, live in Weston.
