Akron, OH, June 29th, 2012 - The LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) is proud to announce the nation-wide release of its I PROMISE band. The black wristbands serve as a visible reminder of the promises students make to pursue their education and live active, healthy lifestyles. The concept for the band originated from a tradition shared between LeBron and students of Wheels for Education, an important pillar program of LJFF. Each time LeBron meets with his Wheels for Education students, they recite The Promise to encourage good habits in their studies and in their lives.
To Go To School.
To Do All of My Homework.
To Listen To My teachers
Because they will help me learn.
To Ask questions and find answers.
To Never Give Up, No Matter What.
To Always Try My Best.
To Be Helpful and respectful to others.
To Live a Healthy Life by eating right and being active.
To make good choices for myself.
To Have fun.
And above all else, to finish School!
This promise I make with the kids is something that we all take very seriously, said LeBron James. When I wear this band, I am reminded of the promise I made to them to be a good role model, and I hope when they wear theirs, they remember the promise they make every day to be good students, good sons and daughters, and good people.
More than just a bracelet, the I PROMISE band is part of a larger movement inspired by the Wheels for Education program and rooted in the beliefs of the LeBron James Family Foundation. The bands are the centerpiece for the upcoming LJFF Time to Promise campaign that will encourage teams, groups and individuals across the country to submit their promises and be a part of the community-wide effort to make a difference.
These bands are more than just an accessory; they are a visual representation of the commitment to create change in the world, said Michele Campbell, Executive Director of the LeBron James Family Foundation. Our hope is that kids, adults, teams, organizations and others will proudly put on their bands every day and remember the promises they have made.
The bands are now available for purchase on the LJFF website (http://www.lebronjamesfamilyfoundation.org/my-promise/i-promise-band/) and all proceeds will go directly to the LeBron James Family Foundation to assist in its mission to improve the nations graduation rate.
I PROMISE bands are $5 each and are available in small (7 inches) and large (8 inches). For more information on the sale of the bands, you can email email@example.com.
