Miami HEAT Open 17th Learn & Play Center
The Miami HEAT celebrated the opening of its 17th Learn & Play Center at Moore Park in Miami. The new Learn & Play Center, refurbished in partnership with presenting sponsor and longtime HEAT community partner Florida Blue.
Followed by a press conference to kick off the event, HEAT players, Josh McRoberts and Josh Richardson, and HEAT Legend, Glen Rice, interacted with students in the new Learn & Play Center. The HEAT renovated the three classrooms at Moore Park and enhanced the rooms with new paint, wall graphics, board games, a video game console, furniture and a 50-inch television donated by Acordis International Corp. Moore Park is a destination park for the neighborhood, which is highly used by residents who are primarily active and seeking personal health and fitness options through the on-site track, fitness room, basketball courts and tennis courts. The youth at this site are a part of the Foundation of Community Assistance and Leadership (FOCAL) program, which strives to provide high quality learning experiences that promote academic, physical, social and emotional growth in participating students.
