HEAT To Go “Back To School” at Flagami Elementary

MIAMI - The reigning NBA Champion Miami HEAT will kick off the 2013-14 school year in Miami-Dade County by welcoming back the students and teachers at Flagami Elementary on Monday, August 19th from 7:25 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. HEAT staffers along with HEAT presenting sponsors Del Monte Fresh Produce, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Nesquik will distribute healthy snacks and other gifts to the students entering the school. Miami-Dade Public Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho is scheduled to be in attendance. HEAT mascot Burnie and the Xtreme Team will provide entertainment and the 2013 Larry O’Brien Championship trophy will be on display.

“The HEAT has been incredibly supportive of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ mission to educate students. They are not only the NBA Champions, they are champions of education, and for that we are extremely grateful,” said Carvalho.

Flagami Elementary is located at 920 S.W. 76th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33144.

Flagami Elementary School is one of South Florida’s highest scoring Title I schools in Miami-Dade County with a long history of success on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). The HEAT selected Flagami Elementary School because of its great academic accomplishments and the strong support it receives from the community and dedicated staff.
