Dwyane Wade Donates $75,000 and iPads to Cabrini-Green Reading Lab

On March 26, 2013 HEAT guard Dwyane Wade visited with children at the Dwyane Wade Reading Lab in the Cabrini-Green “By the Hand Club for Kids” in North Sedgwick, Chicago. Wade and his charity organization, Wade’s World Foundation, donated 20 iPads and $75,000 for an iPad Reading Lab in the Center.
Wade video-chatted and read with the children on their new iPads from another room in the building, then surprised them as he walked into the lab to meet them in person. The lab was decorated with new furniture and a painting of Wade on the wall. The children had the opportunity to speak with Wade about the importance of reading, basketball, and his teammates.
