MIAMI, June 16 – Miami HEAT All-Star guard Dwyane Wade will present a $150,000 check to the Miami Coalition For A Safe And Drug-Free Community at South Miami Hospital on Friday, June 17, at 1:00 p.m. The presentation will take place at the Victor E. Clarke Education Center, Classroom D. The donation, made by the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund is in recognition of Marilyn Culp, President of the Miami Coalition. It will be an annual contribution to the organization for the next five years.

MIAMI, April 25 – The Miami HEAT was named the 2004-05 winner of the Florida Education Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award for its HEAT Academy free, after-school program. The HEAT is one of only three organizations to receive this award in Miami-Dade County, and this selection marks the second time the HEAT has received this award for its HEAT Academy program.
MIAMI, Mar. 17 – As part of a unique partnership between the world’s largest cruise operator and the NBA’s premier franchise, Carnival Cruise Lines and the Miami HEAT Family Outreach Charitable Fund have pledged $2.5 million to renovate the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Medical Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Holtz Children’s Hospital in Miami.
MIAMI, Mar. 10 – The Miami HEAT has teamed up with Publix and Gatorade for a three-part series of collector’s edition comic books. The Miami HEAT Comic Books will be available in both English and Spanish for a limited time and sold exclusively at South Florida Publix Supermarket locations for $2.99 each.
MIAMI, Jan. 11 The 34 th Annual “Parada y Festival de los Reyes Magos” (Three Kings Day Parade and Festival), presented by Univision Radio and its four Miami radio stations: WAMR - AMOR 107.5, WAQI - Radio Mambí 710 AM, WRTO - Salsa 98.3 FM, and WQBA – 1140 AM. MIAMI, Jan. 11 – HEAT center Shaquille O’Neal is the recipient of the NBA Community Assist Award for the month of December for his charitable contributions over the holiday season.
Miami, Dec. 15 – With the support of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF), the Miami HEAT will continue to promote the value of reading through their local Read to Achieve program. Miami HEAT forward Udonis Haslem and his mother, Debra Haslem, will read Dugald Steer’s children’s book Snappy Little Jungle to a group of children from Amigos For Kids, Thursday, December 16 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Borders Books and Music in Pinecrest.
MIAMI, Nov. 19 – Partnering with Humana, Miami HEAT players, coaches and staff look forward to making this Thanksgiving a special day for nearly 1,000 families in Overtown, for its annual Thanksgiving in Overtown Celebration. The event, in its 13th year, will take place on Monday, November 22 from 3-5PM, with the central hub of the festivities being held at the 9th Street Pedestrian Mall (between NW 8th and NW 10th Streets and NW 2nd Avenue).
Palm Beach Gardens, October 1 – As South Florida Blood Banks begins the difficult process of restoring the local blood supply severely depleted by the effects of four major hurricanes, a unique partnership with the Miami HEAT and the AmericanAirlines Arena was announced today in order to bring the blood supply back to pre-hurricane levels.
MIAMI, September 30 – The Miami HEAT announced today that the Miami HEAT Family Outreach Charitable Fund has teamed up with the Miami Children’s Museum to become the exclusive sponsor of the museum’s Safety Zone, an area at the museum where children learn about the importance of safety. On Saturday, October 2 at 8PM, in conjunction with the museum’s first anniversary, HEAT players Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem will be part of the “Be a Kid Again” Gala to honor the milestone.

MIAMI, August 25 – Dwyane Wade and his 11 teammates on the 2004 USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team are the recipients of the NBA Community Assist Award for the month of August. As part of the “Hoops for Troops” pre-Olympic initiative, the members of USA Basketball showed their support for United States military personnel serving around the globe by hosting thousands of service men and women at numerous practices, scrimmages and games during their pre-Olympic training.
MIAMI, August 23 – Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the Miami-based multi-brand cruise company, is making a $1 million donation to aid victims of Hurricane Charley. Half the monies will be directed to the disaster relief fund recently announced by Florida Governor Jeb Bush that has been established by the Volunteer Florida Foundation and the other half to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
MIAMI, August 19 - In an effort to lift the spirits of those who have suffered hardships due to Hurricane Charley, the Miami HEAT traveled to the West Coast of Florida on Thursday, August 19 to spend time with those affected by the tragedy.
