	HEAT Season of Giving: The Miami HEAT players and staff ring in the holiday season with numerous festive celebrations and outreach efforts. Programs include turkey giveaways at Thanksgiving, holiday hospital visits, special Christmas tree deliveries, holiday parties and toy drives for local charities.
	HEAT Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Presented by Pepsi: With the largest Hispanic season ticket fan base in the NBA, the Miami HEAT in partnership with Pepsi continues to engage the Hispanic community, with an annual HEAT Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration during the month of October. In its sixth year, the event consists of a fun-filled day of festivities that includes interaction with HEAT Players, HEAT Dancers, the Xtreme Team and Burnie the mascot.
	HEAT Black History Month Challenge Presented by Pepsi: The Black History Month Challenge is a game show-style competition held at the AmericanAirlines Arena during the month of February where two teams of students from two local schools test their knowledge of Black history for a chance to win a HEAT prize pack, which includes HEAT tickets and a $5,000 grant to the winning school. This will be the third year of the event hosted by HEAT/Sun Sports sideline reporter Jason Jackson and also incorporating two HEAT players as captains on each of the opposing teams.
	Re-HEAT Program Presented by Serenity Home Health Care: The Miami HEAT in partnership with Serenity Home Health Care, Levy Restaurants, and AmericanAirlines Arena has developed the Re-HEAT program to distribute unserved food from all HEAT home games to homeless shelters in the South Florida area. Beneficiary organizations include the Miami Rescue Mission and Community Partnership for Homeless.
	HEAT Beach Sweep: HEAT Beach Sweep comprises of a beach clean-up effort that incorporates HEAT players, HEAT Dancers, Burnie, the Xtreme Team and all of the HEAT front office staff. This event will serves as a centerpiece for the Miami HEAT during NBA Green Week. NBA Green Week looks to leverage the combined weight of the league, teams, players, and partners to generate awareness and raise funds to help support environmental protection.

As part of Green Week in April 2009, the AmericanAirlines Arena announced that it was awarded LEED Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED is the USGBC's leading rating system for designing and constructing the world's greenest, most energy-efficient, and high performing buildings. The AmericanAirlines Arena was one of the first two arenas in the country to receive this prestigious designation by the USGBC.
