HEAT Head Coach Pat Riley

On the game:
“We had a really good 2nd half. Marcus (Banks) played one of his best games of the year and had a great 2nd half for us. Earl (Barron) came in and gave us a lot of energy. It was a good win. It was a good bounce back for Dwyane (Wade)”.

We’re going to be able to actually eat tonight (because we won)”.

On Dwyane Wade's defense on Kevin Durant:
“I thought he did a great job. He (Durant) is really unorthodox. He walks by me and he’s like 6’11’’. He’s really tall, long and lanky and has great quickness and is like any other young player. We sort of loaded up on him. I don’t know what his true position is yet, he’s a 2 or a 3. I thought Dwyane did a good job on him”.

On Marcus Banks:
“What I said about Marcus prior to the game is where he’s got to get to. He’s got to be totally focused on being a facilitating point guard. We don’t run a lot of offense for him and he needs to make sure the ball gets to the right people and that there’s the right tempo. A lot of things go into being that kind of player. Some guys have it naturally and other guys have to learn it and I think he’s in the process of having to learn that”.

HEAT Guard Marcus Banks

On fitting in with the new team:
“I’m starting to understand and I’m starting to pick up on things on the defensive end”.

“I’m more surprised that these guys haven’t quit. We have one of the worst records in the league but these guys fight and they’re trying to get it done day in and day out. We’re all trying to get better and I think that’s a good sign”.

Sonics Head Coach P.J. Carlesimo

On the game:
“We hurt ourselves at the end of the first half, we had a seven point lead late, and then we let it get down to four. We didn’t defend nearly as well in the second half as we did in the first, we obviously had a lot of trouble with Shawn and D-Wade, but offensive boards in the second half really hurt us. I don’t remember what they had at halftime, maybe seven or eight, but they had bunch in the second half to Earl Barron, and Shawn. They ended up shooting probably 50 percent or more. Plays we got stops on they got offensive rebounds and then we turned it over probably twice as much as they did. When the game was on the line they played with more desperation, and guys stepped up and they just did a better job than we did.”

On the decline of aggression:
“I thought we were strong for a good chunk of the first half. I mean, we had a little bit of up and down, but for most of the first half we were good. We did a poor job closing the half, and then in the third quarter I thought we were hanging in, I guess we were still alright, we were only down one, but then we had a horrible, well I think at one point we were up seven and then we had a bad stretch to end it.”

Sonics Forward Chris Wilcox

On the the road after a tough loss:
“I mean it’s definitely going to be rough because we thought this was a game we could win, we just got to stay focused and got to play hard, for four quarters.”

On the game:
“I think we had a hell of a game until the fourth quarter, last couple minutes, and then we just fell away."

Sonic Guard Earl Watson

On the game:
“You know Miami is a really good half-court team, but for them to get 20 more shots than us is still… that can’t happen. That’s a lot more shots than any team, especially on that level. For us, you know a lot of things went their way, they played well down the stretch, they executed very well and that kind of gave them a cushion.”
